Excursion in an electric van - The Marais Poitevin by boat and bike

Fridays from May to September, Damien, a guide for 14 years in the Marais Poitevin, accompanies you along the trail to discover the men who have shaped this territory over the centuries.

By boat, by bike, in the heart of Maillezais Abbey, your guide will share all his secrets with you, and take you to meet an artisan brewer and discover true gastronomy over a local picnic on the port of Maillé.

Program for the day:
9am: Departure from La Rochelle Tourist Office
(Meet 15 minutes before)

10am: Meet up in Maillezais with Damien, your guide for the day. By bicycle, led by the sound of birds and local traditions, you'll complete a dozen or so discovery stages.

Start the day by enjoying the magic of traditional boat trips in the heart of Green Venice. From the canal or on land, you'll enjoy unique views and discover the history of the majestic Maillezais Abbey.

12:30 pm: Take the bike path along the green marshlands to the traditional village.

For lunch, treat yourself to a picnic of the finest local produce. Then join Damien to explore Maillé's historical, architectural and hydraulic heritage. --> Please let us know if you have any allergies. (ot.accueil@larochelle-tourisme-evenements.com)

3:30 pm: Finally, to round off the day, push open the doors of a craft brewery where you can taste local beers.
