Comfortably installed in a shared vehicle (8 seats) with a private driver, set off in complete peace and quiet to discover our various exclusive routes! Let us guide you for a day or half-day to the territories of Ile-de-Ré, Marais Poitevin, Rochefort and Brouage, the South Vendée as well as the unmissable of the agglomeration of La Rochelle. An ideal offer for visitors wishing to be transported and guided around La Rochelle.

1. What is La Rochelle Océan Van?

➡️ All-inclusive electric van tours for a day, morning or afternoon. You can choose between 7 excursions, 4 full day and 3 half day.  You can discover La Rochelle and its surroundings (Marais Poitevin, Ile de Ré, Rochefort, Brouage...) with our private driver who will drop you off in front of each tourist site. Alone, as a couple or with friends, you can reserve one or more seats, the van has 8 seats. The van is shared with other visitors, but it is possible to privatise it by calling us beforehand.

 

2. How do I book my tour?

➡️ I can book my tour on the online ticketing service, or directly at the La Rochelle Tourist Office (bookings for the following day are closed the day before at 4pm for full-day tours and one hour before for half-day tours). As the 2024 programme of Ocean Van excursions is currently being drawn up, tickets for the next season will be available from April 2024.

 

3. How is a day or half-day made up?

➡️ The days or half days are based on several themes : gastronomy, local culture, nature, history, heritage and must-do activities. Everything is organised in advance, you don't have to do anything!

 

4. Will I be alone in the van?

➡️ No, the excursions offered in the van are shared with other visitors. If your group consists of 8 people, then you will be with your family only. It is even possible to privatise the van on request by contacting the Tourist Office.

 

5. Is it possible to have a booster seat for my child?

➡️ Yes, it is possible to obtain a booster seat for your child upon request (from the age of 4).

 

6. If it rains, will my trip be maintained?

➡️ Depending on the weather forecast, we reserve the right to cancel a tour or not. It is possible to postpone the tour to another date if the visitors wish.

 

7. Are there any options for intolerant/allergic/vegetarian people for the meals included?

➡️ We do our best to accommodate all dietary requirements for meals included in day trips, whether in restaurants or on picnics. However, it is necessary to specify this when booking at: ot.accueil@larochelle-tourisme-evenements.com

 

8. What are the prices? Are there any children's rates?

➡️ Yes, we offer child rates for full and half day excursions:

Full day :
Adult: €149
Children: 139 € (4-11 years) except for the day with bike 8-11 years

Half day :
Adult: €79
Children: 69 € (4-11 years old)

 

9. Do I have to cycle to work?

➡️ For the tour "The Marais Poitevin by boat and bike with a single guide", yes, because the day is almost entirely spent by bike (although it is not a sporting day, as there are many stops).

 

10. Are the tours accessible to people with disabilities?

➡️ This product is new in 2023 and due to technical constraints, it is unfortunately not suitable for people with reduced mobility. However, the office can offer you many other adapted routes in the area: to find out more, we invite you to consult our Accessibility Guide, which will give you the opportunity to stay with us. In addition, we are working on adapted excursions for the next few years.
