What is a webtoon?
Webtoon is a form of digital comic book, originating in South Korea, designed to be read on digital devices such as smartphones and tablets. They are distinguished from manga by their continuous, top-to-bottom reading format, optimized for on-screen scrolling. Webtoons are often in color, unlike traditional black-and-white manga, and can tackle a wide variety of genres. Increasingly popular, they have become a global cultural phenomenon, with dedicated platforms and adaptations into TV series and films.
An event to promote public reading
#11marsjelis: a nationwide "quarter-hour of reading
Whether or not we are readers, occasional, habitual or unconditional readers, the aim of the quarter-hour reading event is to put reading back at the heart of our daily lives, by inspiring us to read for 15 minutes a day... or more.
In partnership with the French Ministry of Education for schools, the CNL is also mobilizing companies, government departments, associations, social centers, nursing homes... and, of course, libraries and bookshops! By demonstrating our collective attachment to books, this symbolic national operation aims to make all citizens aware of the importance of reading, and to encourage all organizations, public and private, to set up regular projects around books and reading.
On Tuesday, March 11, 2025, read and take part in the national quarter-hour of reading!
