Jean-Pierre Heintz spent 3 years in the cultural department of the French Embassy in Morocco. He was director of the French Cultural Center in Dakar, Senegal, before joining the international affairs department of the French Ministry of Culture, with responsibility for Africa, the Near and Middle East and the French-speaking world.
As Director of Cultural Affairs for the city of La Rochelle, he chaired the Association nationale des directeurs de la culture des grandes villes et agglomérations.
Today, he is a member of the Institut du monde arabe, administrator of the Centre intermondes and vice-president of the Club international de La Rochelle.
