Discover the port's biodiversity!
The La Rochelle marina is much more than just a nautical space: it's also a haven for local biodiversity.
Situated between the city and the ocean, it's home to a host of animal and plant species that can be discovered every year... provided you take the time to observe.

With this in mind, the port, in partnership with the League for the Protection of Birds (LPO), is offering a series of free nature outings open to all, to explore the Pointe des Minimes and its ecological riches in a different way.

Each outing lasts around 2h30 and takes place on the Pointe des Minimes.

According to a study carried out by the LPO in 2023, over 50 bird species frequent the site between October and March. Among the most common are Black-headed Gull, Herring Gull, Ring-necked Turnstone, Brent Goose, Dunlin.

But nature here isn't limited to birds: butterflies, coastal flowers and other small species also await you along the trails.

Nature outings are open to all.

Binoculars are provided for observation.
