See you in the garden - Jardins de pierres, pierres de jardins
Flowers plants From Friday 6 to Sunday 8 June 2025.
For this 21st edition, the French Ministry of Culture has chosen to put the spotlight on the five senses in the garden.
We invite you to join us for a flowery stroll.
We invite you to join us for a flowery stroll.
The aim of these three days is to invite the public to discover the richness and variety of parks and gardens, to encourage exchanges between visitors and those involved in gardens (owners, gardeners, landscape gardeners, etc.), and to highlight the many initiatives undertaken, notably by the French Ministry of Culture, to study, conserve, restore, create and enhance gardens (remarkable garden label), to pass on knowledge and know-how, and to train gardeners in the art of gardening.
The event takes place in 2,300 gardens in France and nearly 600 gardens in the twenty other participating European countries.
In La Rochelle, this event is an opportunity to inaugurate the exhibition greenhouse at the Centre Horticole Municipal, named after Aimé Bonpland (1773-1858).
It will also be an opportunity to visit the city's greenhouses, talk to gardeners about their know-how and discover the many varieties of plants grown.
Self-guided and guided tours of 11 sites, seven of which are privately owned or run by associations, workshops, gardening advice, exhibitions, a gathering of old cars and projections will punctuate the stroll to the rhythm of the five senses. Sensory and musical activities also await walkers in certain gardens.
11 sites : Center Horticole Municipal + Jardin le Paradis Vert + Parc de la Faucherie + Jardin Hana-Ryu + jardin ikébaniste + Domaine les Muriers + Jardin Joussaume + Jardin des Plantes - Museum + Jardin Musée du Nouveau Monde + Jardin Eden Ouest + Relais Nature de la Moulinette.
And on LOOPI, discover the TREES trail on your own.
A year ago, Cécile Taillandier and Patrick Chiuzzi traveled to South America in the footsteps of Aimé Bonpland, an explorer from La Rochelle born 250 years ago.
Preview their film Sur les traces d'Aimé Bonpland, explorateur botaniste, on Friday May 31, 2024 at 7pm at Carré Amelot.
Free admission on reservation: https://billetterie-carreamelot.mapado.com/event/342169-film-aime-bonpland
