Aquarium La Rochelle is delighted to welcome Thomas Lacoue-Labarthe, biologist and researcher at CNRS (LIENSs).
Known for its camouflage, bone and ten arms, the cuttlefish belongs, along with its cousins the octopus and squid, to the class of cephalopod molluscs. Some 500 million years of evolution have transformed a small, primitive snail into this surprising animal in terms of biological, physiological and behavioral performance.

Biologist Thomas Lacoue-Labarthe, a CNRS research fellow, is particularly interested in the effect of ocean acidification on the bioaccumulation and toxicity of metals in the cuttlefish Sepia officinalis.
