Juliette Alhmah is a French artist who explores the relationships between people, their environment, their beliefs and their poetry.
Today, she is devoting herself to a literary project as well as a visual and textual work on love and landscape: Étreinte, la terre.
"The state of the world and the violence that runs through it, driven and repeated by man's will to dominate - the territories, the elements, other living beings - affects me.
And love always appears as a response to this concern. All forms of love begin with the gaze, a gaze that faces and supports, without judgment.
It's also the attention we pay to the person we love. This movement can meet other people, other causes. It can grow. This momentum may know no limits. And so, I ask myself: what would happen in the world if we shared the same love for the landscapes, lands and eco-systems we live alongside? Through the encounter of images of landscapes and photographs of my lover, through texts-fragments that explore the link to the other and to the earth, I attempt to name fragility and create a space where love unfolds."
Opening on Saturday May 17 at 4pm, in the presence of Juliette Alhmah, presentation and discussion with the artist.
Guided tour of the exhibition on Tuesday May 21 at 5pm, with Juliette Alhmah. Let the artist tell you about Etreinte, la Terre.
