Springtime for cemeteries in La Jarrie

For the 1st time, the commune is taking part in the "Printemps des cimetières" organized by the Aurhalpin Heritage Federation, the only event dedicated exclusively to funerary heritage and the discovery of cemeteries.

It's an opportunity to recall that for more than a year, the commune has been taking over abandoned concessions in squares 3 and 4. Some of these have been saved for heritage reasons, and are now part of the commune's heritage. Ossuaries have been set up, and some stones cleaned and offered for sale, with a dual objective: to enable families to acquire monuments at low cost, and to reuse limestone from the Charente region (a legally regulated operation).

An old, abandoned stone chapel is being converted to provide 12 spaces in a new, antique-style columbarium - a completely new operation.
