As part of the tenth anniversary of Festival Zéro 1 - a festival of hybrid arts and digital cultures - the Atelier Bletterie is hosting the exhibition Life Needs Internet by Dutch artist Jeroen Van Loon.
Life Needs Internet was born of Jeroen van Loon's challenge to live for two months without internet or telephone. From this digital abstinence emerged a crucial question, put to hundreds of people around the world: What influence does the Internet have on your life?
The exhibition presents their handwritten answers - intimate traces where gratitude and anxiety mingle. Each piece of writing reveals our ambivalent dependence on the web: a tool for freedom that has become indispensable, a space for connection transformed into a vital need. These testimonials paint a collective self-portrait of connected humanity, between alienation and emancipation.
Life Needs Internet thus captures the paradoxical essence of our times: never freer, never more dependent.
